Our History

Shaping the world since 1972

Our first nursery school, Agora Patufet, in Sant Cugat del Vallés, Barcelona, Spain opened in 1972.  The success of this school led to its expansion in 1989, with the school finally growing into Agora Sant Cugat International School, which today provides an international education for children aged from 0 to 18 years old and sets the standard for quality in education throughout the Iberian Peninsula.

In 2005, the NACE Schools group was born. To enable us to share Agora Sant Cugat’s successful educational philosophy and provide an opportunity for more children to acquire the solid educational foundation needed to achieve their goals, existing schools joined us and new schools were founded.  Since that time, NACE Schools, now Globeducate, has been continuously growing and improving right up to the present day.

Developing our international presence

In 2006, two new Spanish schools, Agora International School Madrid, and Agora Lledó in Castellón de la Plana, joined Globeducate.  In 2007 and 2008, Areteia School in Madrid also came onboard and Agora International School Barcelona and Agora Portals in Palma de Mallorca were founded.  In 2011, we began our programme of international expansion with the addition of the École Internationale Bilingue Paris group (EIB Paris), comprising four French/English bilingual schools and we also incorporated the Victor Hugo School, an international school delivering the British curriculum.   In 2012, Stonar School in Wiltshire, England became the first British school to join our group.

2013 marked the start of intercontinental growth for the Globeducate, with the addition of seven TIPS schools across India. In 2016, St George’s English School in Bilbao, Spain also joined the group, initiating our presence in the North of the Iberian Peninsula, which culminated in the merging of O Castro British School and Coruña British School, two schools based in Galicia in 2017.

2017 was a record year for schools coming on board with Globeducate; in addition to the Galician schools we welcomed three more French schools; EIB de la Jonchère and two Hattemer centres in Paris. Agora International School Andorra and the International Community School in London also joined us in 2017, in addition to two Italian International schools, merged under the name of ICS Milan.

In 2018, Southlands International School and Rome International School, both situated in the Italian capital, also joined the group and our most recent additions in 2018 have been Ebica School, located on the French Riviera, Pipo Nursery, in the downtown of Sant Cugat del Vallés, the Nobel International School Algarve, in Portugal, and the Blyth group, with schools in Canada, Italy and Qatar, in addition to an online school.

Today, after 40 years of working in education, we are proud to say that Globeducate is an international benchmark in the field of international education and is considered to be one of the five best schools groups in the world.  Building on four successful decades of experience in the education sector, our sights are set firmly on shaping the world.
